John P. Kayser
Prior to joining Graue Mill Partners in March 2005 as an Advisory Director, Mr. Kayser had been a partner at William Blair & Company, L.L.C. For over fourteen years, he had been Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at the firm, overseeing finance, accounting, legal, compliance, management information systems, human resources, facilities, marketing and strategic planning. Completing over twenty-five years with William Blair, Mr. Kayser began his career as a member of the Corporate Finance Department focusing on debt and equity capital financings and mergers and acquisitions advisory. He later headed equity syndicate operations.
While at William Blair, Mr. Kayser served on the investment committees for a number of the firm's mezzanine and venture capital funds, which managed private investments in excess of $ 1 billion. He was a member of the firm's Executive Committee for over ten years and was a board member of William Blair Mutual Funds, Inc.
Prior to William Blair, Mr. Kayser had spent four years at Borg-Warner Corporation, where he worked in a variety of financial positions at the corporate and divisional levels, both in Chicago and overseas.
Mr. Kayser has served on the board of directors of the Chicago Stock Exchange, a public company and several non-profit organizations. He is currently a board member and chairman of the finance and investment committee of the King-Bruwaert House and has been a recent past President of both the University Club of Chicago and Hinsdale Golf Club. Mr. Kayser received a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
