James I. McMahon
Following a twenty year career in community banking in the Chicago area, Mr. McMahon founded de novo the United Community Bank of Lisle in November 2000, where he served as Director, President and Chief Executive Officer. And, until its sale to FBOP Corporation, Oak Park, Illinois, parent of Park National Bank in January 2007, he had been Director, Chief Executive Officer and President of the bank’s parent, United Financial Holdings, Inc. He continues as Regional President with Park National following the merger, responsible for the eastern DuPage County footprint which his United Community Bank brings to the $13 billion asset Park National. With the sale of United Community, Mr. McMahon generated a 26 percent IRR and 3.2x cash on cash return for his founding investor group over six years.
Mr. McMahon was previously the President, CEO and a Director of the Midwest Bank of Hinsdale, which he started de novo in May, 1991. During this time, he also served as President, CEO and Board member of Midwest One Mortgage Services and was Executive Vice-President of Midwest Banc Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBHI), the parent company of Midwest Bank of Hinsdale. Prior to 1991, Mr. McMahon was the President of Illinois State Bank of Chicago and from 1983 to 1988 was Senior Vice-President – Commercial Loans at Midwest Bank & Trust. Mr. McMahon started his financial services career as a branch manager for Household Finance in 1976.
He has been active on the Boards of Directors or Trustees of Hinsdale Community Service (former Chairman), Hinsdale Central High School Foundation (former Chairman), Wellness House in Hinsdale (immediate past-Chairman of the Board), Rotary Cub of Hinsdale Gateway (past President 1994-95), Hinsdale Caucus for District 181 candidate selection 2003, Village of Lisle Economic Development Commission 2003-present and Village of Hinsdale -- Chairman of Solutions Exploration Group 7 (Strategic Planning).
Mr. McMahon received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Loyola University in Chicago and a Masters of Management Degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is presently a member of the Advisory Boards to the Graduate Business Schools of Loyola University and Benedictine University (as Chairman), Fenwick High School and St. Isaac Jogues, Hinsdale. |
